Help me out here-what does being "a single guy" have to do with it? Do you think single guys have better times to go then other people? I don't get what you are asking.

If you go in the summer months there are a lot of tourists (June-August). This can be an advantage or disadvantage. Disadvantage- you are dealing with a lot of tourists, crowds, lines, etc. Advantage- it is easy to find a group or other singles to visit sites, hang out or travel with. I went last June and July (Rome, Tuscany, Venice, Naples, Milan) and met people from all over the world. Tuscany seemed much less touristy and I got a lot of interaction with the locals. The whole trip was quite amazing, even with the crowds. If you prefer a more quiet, by yourself and with the locals time, I would recommend going in September or October. Have fantastic travels. I know whenever you go you won't be disappointed.

best period for all is may, june... or september
in august milan is too hot and italians go on holidays there's not much to do in milan..
i dont suggest you venice in summer, with bright sun its better florence ( ok i don't like venice , but i think it's more suggestive in autumn) unless you want to visit venice and then move to jesolo (very close) to have relax on the beach and have fun in your nightlife!
and rome?june and july are ok but it's perfect in september because of the climate, the wind is warm and the sun shine, but the temperatures are not hot!
if you want to go to the seaside, i suggest you july, the best month of the year.. august it's very croewded and hotels are more expensive!

well obviuously when you're single so you don't have to worry about your commited relationship. that way you can go visit all the places you would wany to see without someone nagging on you.

I would go end of August/ beginning of September. I got married in Rome last year and it was early september and the weather was perfect! At that time you can still go to the beach but the heat is bearable. Have a good trip!

well i would guess spring or summer when the girls and you are wearing less but cant say because i have never been there.

Summer my man. All of the out door action is during the summer months.
Milan - even has a "beach" . Ask your hotel about the "idroscalo". It's a man made lake - the locals go swimming and boating... Milan also has some great dance clubs. Check out the Hollywood - its' where all of the models go.
Tuscany - full of sun burnt Brits.... All the same you'll find action in Florence. It's jammed packed with tourists from around the world. If you can't score there then you're a zero.
Venice - same as Florence.... probably more expensive.... and women with more class.

I'm italian and live in Tuscany. I think the most beautiful season of the year is fall. Near Florence ther are a lot of vineyards, very nice. Florence is one of the hottest city of Italy during summer while in winter you can find snow. I can say the same about Milano. Venice is always crowded of tourists. Venice is famous for the Carnival on february. The masks are amazing.
Anyway, I advice you spring or fall.
