no much difference about the weather generally excellent and warm or even hot. i truly think that even the hotels applicate the low season that time so that the costs are lower and the same it's for venice (where weather temperature could be only a little bit lower) but i don't have any particoular suggestion about accomodations.

try to avoid days which correspond to school holidays in italy and europe. You can fly from rome to venezia or take the train. italy has got a good train network and you will be able to see the surrounding area as well by train.
Cheap airlines take u to venice trevisio which is 1.0 hrs away from venice, so b4 u buy any cheap airfare make sure the airport is close by to your final destination
