I use the Venere site to book hotels here in Italy. http://en.venere.com/hotels_florence/ You probably wouldn't consider the places I stay as cheap, but the Venere site allows you to sort by price. You can find some fairly inexpensive options for Italy - generally the cheaper places will be a little further out, but not always. |

If you are looking for a nice a chep accomodation then the best for you would be "Farmhouse Casa Italia".

You should probably define "cheap". I stayed in a Holiday Inn, which was reasonable, but wasn't the cheapest option. It was much cheaper than a high end hotel.
There are a lot of older, smaller hotels and hostels that wouldn't have the same amenities and would be priced better. |
