You can see in Dolomiti, and in the part of Bolzano near the borders of Austria..
But it is also possible to see in Emilia Romagna.. |

Some years, it has been snowing for the opening of the Christmas market in Trento at the end or the December. You can usually see snow at the higher elevations in the mountains then, but that's a long way north of Florence. One year, my daughter came to visit during Thanksgiving in the US and it was snowing in Venice while we were there for the day, but the weather in Florence was pretty nice the next day. When I was in Bolzano a couple of weekends ago, there were a few traces of snow in the higher elevations, but very little.
You might see some snow in the mountains around Florence then, but not always. You can always check the weather report and webcams for Mt. Cimone here: http://www.skiinfo.com/Weather-Forecast/Cimone-EITCIMONEMO-101-en.jhtml and http://www.skiinfo.com/snowreport/snowfinder_detail.jsp?product.skiinfo.DESTID=EITCIMONEMO |

Every year in some parts of Italy it snows. But you might be sure to see snow just in north Italy, you can't be sure to see it especially in centre or south Italy. But sometimes it also snow there. |

I visited the North of Italy ten years ago and we got to see snow in Florence and San Marino.
Of course the planet got much warmer since.
Good luck! |

I lived in Florence for 4 months during the fall/winter, and only saw snow on the day I left. I hear substantial snowfall there is pretty rare. You'll probably need to be really lucky or go further north. |
