Where are the best cities to travel to in Northern Italy for 18 year olds? |
We're looking for a city with beautiful scenery and great night life in Northern Italy, some where above Florence. This is our last summer before college and we are want to leave with a great experience and a good time. We have a tight budget, so we need to keep things in a moderate price range. thanks a lot! |

I'd avoid big cities like Milan or Turin 'cause I heard that in summer they empy, are hot and become quite boring. Most of the college students that move to the north to study, go back home to the south in summer. This happens where I live too: students go home and the locals move to the coast during the weekend.
If by "scenary" you mean beaches, I suggest you Tuscany and Liguria. Viareggio, in Tuscany is where you can have lots of fun 'cause it's full of discotheques, pubs, bars, restaurants. And it's on the water. It's excellent for shopping too. Just in case. Livorno and surroundings may be a good option too. Altough it's quite stabby during the day, it becomes extremely lively at night. It's on the water too and it's very very clean, and beautiful. there are rocks all over the coast. I love it. Of course you'll need a car to move around. It's still in Tuscany which is well known all over the world for its scenary. So if you get bored and don't want to go to the beach, you can visit San Gimignano, Volterra, Pisa, Lucca, Florence and many others. If you are more into lakes and mountains, I suggets you Garda lake ( north of Italy ) and surrounding such as Verona or Mantova ( my favorite ). I heard that the southern part of the lake is the most lively one. Desenzano, Limone, to name a few.
Have fun here :) |

Hi =) I'm from a little town in Northern Italy, in the province of Novara. Near Novara there are some beautiful discos as "Il Celebrità " in Trecate, "La Rocca" in Arona (a very pretty town), "Kelly" in Omegna (province of Verbania). Then in Vicolungo there is a very big Outlet where you can do a lot of shopping. There are others shopping mall in Biella, "Gli Orsi", and in Gravellona Toce. In Milan there are loads of shops and monuments and on the Navigli there are a lot of locals. |

Bologna is a university city, there are many things to do at night, Cinque Terre (Monterosso rocks in August), La Spezia, Pisa, Milan on the docks. On the other coast if you have time, there is Rimini. |
