let me say that i'm girl so i'm not that much into such things,but i'm from rome and i do have eyes,so there are things i can tell you....
brothels are illegal in italy,there are some of high level,very expensive in downtown,but they're like "elitaire" and I have never been curious enough to ask where exactly they are.
but there are many (I'd say TOO many) girls "working" on our streets, most of them are from eastern europe,they're mostly under-aged and have a family far from rome and they're "bosses" would kill it all if they don't prostitute or if they try to escape...Said that, and underling the fact that a recent new law made many prostitute disappear since both them and the client would have to pay a fine if caught (thing that the police say happens frequently but i don't trust them), i can tell you that in a neighborhood near midtown called "Acqua Acetosa" there are many viados,which are Brazilian guys pretending to be girls (and very likely to be),in "Via Salaria" there are (all day long,not just at nights) many young girls usually almost completely naked,sometimes with just bra and panties,some others without...for what i saw they looked mostly pretty,which i assumed means they are more expensive,but i'm not too sure about that. the most famous neighborhood for what's about prostitution is claimed to be "Tor di quinto",where there are mostly italian women (about 40-50 yrs old).
I really can't tell u anything about prices....but remember that it is absolutely illegal in italy going with a prostitute....

V ISIT YR LOCAL STD CLINIC FIRST SO YOU CAN GET A BASELINE TEST ON EVERYTHING-HIV,HERPES,ETC AND POSSIBLY SOMEANTIBIOTICS TO GET A START HANDLING THOSE CUTE SOUVENIORS THAT ONE WILL TAKE HOME.
