Just another 2D character online |
Where do I find hotels and contact numbers and emails for Italy? |
We are heading to Italy in the end of September. I just realized that we can't just book our rooms online unless we want to pay something like $400 a day for a room. Are there any suggestions? We are going to start in Venice, then Florence, the Amalfi Coast, and end in Rome. We don't intend to be in the room much. We just need it clean, safe, and cheap as possible. I think I am too old to use hostels. I would rather be off the beaten path.
Please help! |

Another nice site to choose bed and breakfast is homelydays.com .
You can have english descriptions, many photos and often also the customers' opinion. I used this site many times and I was very satisfied. Happy holiday.

To book a good and cheap hotel in Venice you can go to http://www.scoobit.com/venice-hotel.php I stayed in the third hotel on the right: nice and clean place, incredibly located. But feel free to choose the hotel that best fits your needs. Scoobit.com is to me the best website for hotels in Italy. You can book on line and there are no booking fees.
If you're looking for a good hotel in Florence go to http://www.scoobit.com/florence-hotel.php I went to the third hotel on the left. Very nice indeed.
I can suggest this this page dedicated to Rome hotels in particular http://www.scoobit.com/accommodations-rome-hotels.php I stayed at the third hotel on the left. It was a clean, well located and nicely staffed hotel. Not over-priced.
All the best. |

there are quite a few sites that you can search. just go here: http://bookme.com/rdf9ff.php and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck. |

$400 equals around 300 euros. there are plenty of hotels in Italy that are well below this price.
Suggest you get a guidebook which lists hotels in different areas and follow-up from there. You're probably better off dealing directly with a hotel than going through a booking company. Trip Advisor has hotel reviews which can be quite useful.
Here's one Venice hotel that's well within your budget http://www.hotelarcadia.net/en/index.htm |

I've been using the Venere site for hotels here in Italy the past ten years. http://www.venere.com/ At the end of September, you'll be able to do a lot better than $400 per day for a room, but you could easily be looking at $100 - $150 per day. You can sort by price on this site and there are reviews by past guests to give you an idea of what to expect. In Venice, Rome, and Florence, the area around the train station is generally a bit less expensive. You could also consider places on the Lido island in Venice. One place that you might consider in Rome is: http://www.venere.com/hotels/rome/hotel-romano/?sd=23&sm=09&sy=2009&ed=24&em=09&ey=2009&rval=1&pval=1# - it's right across from the Forum and is usually a reasonable rate. Right now, they're quoting 100 euro per night in late September. A cheaper two star near the train station is: http://www.venere.com/hotels/rome/hotel-stella/?sd=28&sm=09&sy=2009&ed=29&em=09&ey=2009&rval=1&pval=1#information;swa20090928,20090929,1,1 |
