Sorrento - totally romantic place. The view across the Bay of Naples is truly breathtaking and Mount Vesuvius dominates the landscape. The best hotel is the Capodimonte (gorgeous) |

i LOVE ITALY!!!!! (world cup champs thankyouverymuch) if you go in tourist off season it is much more pleasant. i lived in florence for six months and it is amazing even only for a few days!! Hotel Hermitage is right off the river and it is quaint and charming. Rome is to die for-- so much history! The area around the Spanish Steps is gorgeous and where i'd recommend a hotel if you can afford it. Venice annoys me but i think it is worth going to if you've never been. Cinque Terre-- five fishing towns-- is absolutely gorgeous and if you are at all outdoorsy the walks that link each town are so amazing and fun!!!! viva italia! |

It's been years ago since I was in Italy, but I had a delightful time in Rome, Livorno (near Pisa), Naples and Taranto. By asking taxi drivers at the train stations we found wonderful, clean and inexpensive Italian hotels. |

Went to Tuscany last year and it was fabulous. Stayed in a refurbished cigar factory which was top class. The nearest town was Arezzo where you could sight-see, shop and eat at some great restaurants. Also we travelled to Chianti country to sample some of the wines which were fab. Found the Italian people really nice and easy to get on with. I'd definitely recommend Tuscany. |

Definitely Venice - but go "out of season" and wander around the less touristy parts. It's magical.
Get a pass for the water buses (Vaporetti) and cruise around the canals all day. |

This is a hard one as there is so much to see & do in the.Place.City wise i would have to say Florence with its beautiful buildings & great bars. But the place to head to is Sicily!.Great beachs on the south of the island in Agrigento Province. On the east of the island you have the town of Taormina with its fantastic views of Mount Etrna & the Bay bellow.& a trip up Mount Etna is a must.Probably one of the few places on earth where you can go sun bathing during the day then off sking on Mount Etna in the Afternoon. |

Hi,
Your question is not easy to answer in few words...
Italy is offering so many different and beatiful places!
My wife and I have for the last 5 years spent 3 weeks in Italy each summer and will of course continue to do so for the upcoming years.
If you are new to Italy I would start exploring Tuscany with the nice cities of Florence, Siena, Lucca and so on ..
Also Sicily and Sardinia offers fantastic experiences.
A good tip is to scan through the many pages of this web site:

Hope you find your spot and have a nice vacation!
Best regards,

San Marino is the nearest thing to heaven ( its high in the clouds ). No tourists especially americans. Strange thing is the San Marino grand prix takes place in Imola ( or it did it is not in next years program ). |

Venice or Verona, But I must warn you that Italy is a dirty country, as in unclean, and the Italians may try to cheat you off your purchases. ITs happened to us before. Have fun. :) |
