HI,,, my favorite place is Florence.... lots to see and do,,,, lots of shopping,,,, food is great...... also Pisa is 1 hour on the train.....

Rome is ok... but watch out for the pickpockets..... they will get you.....and quick.....

Pompe is wonderful also.......

Good Luck...and have fun......

I agree, piedmont is gorgeous...especially if your looking for unique geographical features, the landscaping is beautiful. the lakes and rivers really have an appeal to the green country side.

Tuscany.....e.g. Florence, Pisa.....Venice of course is always a must-see!

A little town an hour or two north of Rome called Montelcino. It has some of the best wine in the country and sits high atop a hill that overlooks the plains all around. It also has a fort on top of the hill that is now a wine tasting place. It is incredible the view is incredible. Of course Rome is incredible with the history, but if your trying to get away from people its not your best bet. Venice is excellent but expensive. And anywhere in the mountains, is very nice too. The food is better in the north, but the weather is better in the south. It all depends on what your looking for. But Montelcino is definitely highly recommended by this traveller.
