if its a acouple of days then venice and if its longer rome....maybe if its in the hotter weather then rome might be better as its larger.....i was surprised at how small venice was and really only needs a couple of days max to get around, while there is more to see and do in rome and you can do a day tour to pompeii and or sorrento/capri which were wonderful and the highlight of my rome tour..... |

Both are very nice but at this time of year I would go to Rome as Venice's canals do smell a bit in the hot weather |

I would recommend both as they are both amazing cities. However if you are planning to go to venice DON'T GO IN THE SUMMER! the best time is in February and if you get the right dates I would recommend the carnival they have because it is incredible. Rome on the other hand has all the monuments and is a fantastic city to explore.
If I were to go back to one it would be Rome =] |

Rome! There is more to do and see there.... it's a LITTLE bit cheaper than Venice this time of year, and you can get the train out of town to Naples. Also, if you're going with a friend you can go shopping! So much fun. |

It depends what your into... if you like the city atmosphere go and wonder the streets of Rome, if your into a more relaxed place go to Venice and see the bridge of size, St. Marks square. The truth is that if your going site seeing either one of the places are excellent choices. Once again it is your preference of atmosphere.☺ |

I would go to Venice, although I have never been, I think it is such a beautiful city. My Dad was there during the Carnival of Masks, and he loved every minute of it. The Murano Glass factory is also close to the city, and I love Murano Glass. |
