There will be a lot of street vendors on the approaches to the major tourist areas off and on during the day. In Venice, if you exit Piazza San Marco from the Correr Museum end and follow the street toward Accademia, there are usually several vendors, but they're all over town. They move around quickly and frequently since most of them are unlicensed. It would be hard to avoid the vendors in any of the big cities. |

I live in Italy and you can buy them on all the streets by big tourist spots. They are way over prices and you really should barggin with them a lot. Plus just so you know if you get caught bring one into the US or out of the Eu customs will fine you $10,000 and take your stuff. SO be careful. The Eu and US has started to crack down a lot on this and you will see the police in Italy make the guys pack up their stuff or if the guys selling stuff see police they pack up the stuff and run. Because the police will fine then and take the stuff also if they want to. |

you have to be VERRY VERRY careful buying knock off items there. 3 yrs ago they made it illegal to buy/sell those items. BUT they still do sell them everywhere and you could get in serious trouble buying it. if u get away with it, good for you |

We just came back from Italy, and there are street vendors everywhere. BUT BE AWARE. Our tour guide warned us against buying anything from these "Foreign" street vendors as they are selling illegally AND she said YOU could be in trouble with the Police if you buy anything from them. |

you'll probably be buying cd's in the street, which is stolen intelectual property, which sorta makes you a criminal of sorts,or no? buy your little thing from artists pay the half price, for something original.... your soul will feel better. one may be arrested for such things in spain, thats europe, and italy is europe...be careful... |

In Florence, as you walk north away from the Duomo, heading toward San Lorenzo, you will see lots of hawkers selling their wares. You will also see some around the Duomo itself.
Not too sure about Venice, I didn't come across any.
In Rome, try Piazza de Navona, near the Trevi Fountain and the around the Spanish steps.
Or you could just buy one real item. |

It is true buying from street vendors it is illegal....but if you consider that they are everywhere you can understand that police is not really interested in them....! So if you want to buy something....you can do it. Take into consideration that if police is around there are no street vendors!!!!!!
Obviously there is another opportunity....shops! |

Theres a great, huge flea market near Trestavere. I believe we took the 72 bus but don't quote me on that. They had everything! We walked for about 2 hours and still didn't make it all the way through. |

In Rome go to the Spanish Steps and fountains around there you will find many venders on the streets selling very nice looking Prada, Gucci and Channel items. They look very real. In Florence just go into the main swap meet type area by the Train station and you will find stalls around there that sell beautiful knock offs. All you really have to do is go to an outdoor cafe and some guy (African looking) will probably come up to you and ask you to buy some fake stuff. You can bargain with them but be very careful. I heard they are also experiencing a massive heatwave there so make sure it okay to go still. |

there'll be a lot of "mercato" public market on streets and you'll find lots of street vendors. try bargaining the price though, if they decline to your offer, walk away, and for sure they'll come running back to you and give you the item at the price you asked for.
happy shopping!!! |
