Capri is very very expensive, especially for anything with a nice pool or view. And as you are finding out, many of the rooms are booked a year in advance, so you may be too late for a prime location.

I don't know that it's really a party town - it's more of a hanging out town.

Your best bet may be to try and find something less expensive onthe Amalfi Coast or in Naples and then you can visit Capri on a day trip. But again, Capri & the Amalfi Coast are more vacation area, not party towns. Naples and Rome are far more Party-centric.

Good luck to you! : )

i got a place in Sorrento - a decent inexpensive bed & breakfast - and i took the ferry over to Capri. They run fairly regularly and are pretty quick. I found Capri beautiful but expensive. I had a better nightlife time in Sorrento.

www.venere.com for accomodations.

You can stay in Naples, where you can find some cheap hotels and from here you can do a day trip to Sorrento (by train I suggest-you can see more) and than to Capri by boat.Enjoy your trip !
