Hi, in my opinion, in Pisa there aren't so many things to see, when I went there, after seeing the Tower, the Dome and the Baptistery which are all in the same square ( Piazza dei Miracoli), I said: and now?...
Instead in Lucca there are more things... The historic centre is very beautiful, and one of the best medieval well-conserved ones... I suggest especially torre Guinigi, the long walk on the walls, the Dome, some Churches in the centre , Piazza dell'Anfiteatro (Amphitheater Square), the Botanic Garden... The atmospheres are different in the two cities, Pisa didn't get anything to me, instead Lucca did... |

Hi Alex, I live near Pisa and it's just amazing! You can visit the tower and the city is wonderful!
So my answer is...PISA! |

Lucca. Pisa is only really fun to see the Tower and take pictures with it but Lucca is smaller and more unique and just cozier. You can ride a bike around the whole town and not feel like you would get run over. It also seemed safer as compared to Pisa. |

I went to University in Pisa and had a really good time there (even if it's really small and there isn't much to do). Lucca is a lot prettier, especially its center, which is lovely.
I'd rather live in Pisa than Lucca, though, because it's more lively and young. |

It is very very beatifoul. |

These are two different types of attractions. The obvious attraction of Pisa is the tower and surrounding grounds (baptistry and duomo) . I think it's well worth a morning or afternoon. However, the rest of the town is not really a big tourist spot. Lucca doesn't have anything other than it's charm. I just don't get tired of walking around old walled cities. When I went I did both in one day... Spent the morning at the tower n Pisa and the afternoon in Lucca.
If I had to chose one, and I hadn't seen it before, it would be the tower at Pisa. After I got that off my checklist of things to see I'm choosing Lucca every time. |

I had read that there was not anything in Pisa to see apart from the tower ( and its worth seeing) but Lucca is lovely and stuck in my memory ( I was also recommended very strongly to me by several people)....I did both in a day. |
