Centro storico (Historic Center)

The majority of the luxury hotels can be found in the centro storico (historic center); however, numerous hotels in the center of the city to accommodate any budget. There are several excellent hotels on fashionable Via Veneto including the Ambasciatori Palace, the Hotel Majestic, the Westin Excelsior and the Eden. All of these hotels served as sets in Federico Fellini's film La Dolce Vita. The exclusive Bernini Bristol looks onto the attractive Fountain of Triton, while the Hassler Villa Medici, at the top of the TrinitÃ dei Monti steps, is a constant destination for the international jet-set. Some other fine hotels include the De La Ville, the Grand Hotel Plaza (with its warm, early 19th-century feel), and the Grand Hotel de la Minerve at the Pantheon.

My favorite is the Quirinale. Beautiful and reasonable and within walking distance to the piazza Navona and Trevi fountain.

Came back from Rome last night...wow...we stayed at the Patria hotel, quite basic, clean, maid came in every day, clean towels etc...we Paid about Â£600.00 for 4 nights for my self and my husband..that was the flight from gatwick London included through expedia. Very central 15 mins from Colosseum and roman forum, comfortable walking distance to trevi fountain, spanish steps, bit of a hike to vatican, got tube there cost 1 euro each (very easy) took about 5 mins..walked back. Was very pleased with the location. Have a great time!! take comfortable shoes!

Hotel anekin.... it can be found on hostel bookers is right near the train station which links you to the vatican the trevi, spanish steps colusseum and pretty much anything you can think of is in walking distance from there plus is close to where the coach drops you off from the airport which is a bonus is reasonably priced and staff are great ... check it out

The AMBASSADOR is the BEST HOTEL...it's where Presidents and Kings stay...might be too expensive, though--you'll have to check the rates.

The FLORA is a nice old hotel, on the other end of the Via Veneto, an easy walk to everything that's cool for sightseeing. It's got high ceilings and an old-fashioned flavor. Nice continental breakfast, too.

Try the Hotel Beverly Hills. Good location and reasonably priced!
