Who knows the owners and story around the abandoned house on the cliff in Sant Agnello, Sorrento Italy

I have recently come back from a holiday in Sant Agnello, Sorrento. I stayed on Corso Marion Crawford in the Hotel Medittereaneo. In front of the hotel to the right there is a huge old house that has been abandoned for 20 years. It sits right on the cliff. It has a huge front garden and 2 little pergodas that sit on the roof. When I asked locals, staff nobody knew anything other than they thought it was haunted. Does anybody know about this house?

This one?

The owner of this house (named "Villa Crawford") was Francis Marion Crawford, an American novelist and horror fiction author.
He was born in Italy (Tuscany) in 1854 and died in Sant'Agnello di Sorrento in 1909 of heart attack (no mistery at all!).

His grandson became a priest and, in 1954, donated Villa Crawford to Istituto Maria Ausiliatrice (Mary Helper Institute). The house became a Convent and still it is.

I stayed in Hotel Mediterraneo two years ago!
