Why do Italians always make gestures with their hands when they talk?

The one that was already side is they are expressive people....

They also do it becuase of how the language is structured. It can require illustraion to make a point understood in some ways. You can of course communicate with just words but it helps to add gesture.

It also illustrates feelings on a subject.

scorpio_angel14
other people do that too

babybro35
why do people from other countries wear towels on their heads and wear bed sheets. because that's what they do.

it is an universal way to communicate! In fact gestures with hands are emphatized when we speak with people who don't speak Italian. It becomes simpler making others understand us when we speak, for example, English.

BigRichGuy
It's expressive - makes the conversation more interesting. On another note, do you know what a specimen is?

An Itallian astronaut.

Because we are a very interested people. That is kind of how we show that we are paying attention and that we are interested in the topic.

Italians are famous for being very expressive people, its just the culture i guess. I live in England so we're always brought up to nevr look stranegrs in the eye as we pass them *shrugs*

Italians are very animated people.. Have been for generations and always will be.

WHY AMERICAN PEOPLE HAVN'T STYLE????????????????

jshclhn
It's probably a cultural thing. If everyone talks while making gestures with their hands, then when you learn to talk, you'll probably learn to use those gestures too. And, if everyone else talks that way, then you are always simply used to talking that way as well.
