Being there for a year will I need a winter coat? I will be in Rome and I've been there during the summer and it was very hot but I haven't been there during the winter months. I read some where that it very rarely snows in Rome also. So, what type of coat will I need? Thank you for your answers!
Additional Details
Oh, if it helps with your answers I'm from Kentucky and the winters get very cold so I'm use to it.

Hi,,, as I wrote you in your other question ,,, yes,, you will need a coat in Italy during the Winter,,,

I was there during the Winter Olympics and honey,,, it was Cold... and then i went to see friends in Florence and Rome and it was cold and Wet and snowy there also,,,,, so,,,

I also suggest that if you go to Florence to buy yourself a nice leather coat there,,, everything in Italian leather in Florence is the place to get it......

Also,,, Remember this,,, Be aware of the Pick Pockets in Florence , and Rome, and any big cities... wallets, purses ,, cell phones,,, these people are Good at their trade !!!! Dont forget this !!!

Good luck

you need a winter coat from november to march in ROME

Dean B
Even in Sicily there are some very cold days in winter.

The Italians are much more sensitive to cold than North Americans and they all wear winter coats. If you are from the Northern US, a good fall coat will do most of the time but there may be a few days when you need a winter coat. Yahool Rome and the city website will give you the lowest winter temperature in Celsius.
