Will land in Pisa from UK, planning on spending two nights in Tuscany? |
Hi, I'm a student, travelling with a friend to Italy this summer. Will land in Pisa International Airport and planning on spending two nights in Tuscany. Is Pisa or Florence better for two nights stay. Hoping to visit Rimini by train also while we're there. Anything that's cheaper and more worth seeing goes....thanks. Any suggestions about a good hostel is also appreciated |

Starting from the end I'm sorry I cannot provide you with any hostel's name since I live in the region and I've never experienced hostels in Pisa or Florence. This said if you're landing in Pisa early in the morning take a 2 hours time to climb on the Leaning Tower. Then take a train or a bus and go to Florence (frequent and easy comnnections - it's a trip of some more than 1 hour) since Pisa has nothing else to offer and nightlife it's rather boring there.
If you've just 2 days however I would give up the trip to Rimini.
It's not so far from Florence in air distance but by train it's a 2 and half hours to go and the same time to be back - 5 hours in total that would miss you a lot.
Here's Trenitalia timetable for yr checking

DEFINITELY FLORENCE! there is absolutely nothing in pisa to see after you look at the leaning tower - and even that isn't all that exciting. it's a drive-by. stay and florence and have a blast! |

You really only need one day in Pisa. All there is to see there is in one small area, and can easily be done in a few hours time. The tower is, of course, the best known sight, but make sure you don't miss the baptistry-absolutely awesome acoustics in there! Florence, on the other hand, is more spread out, and two art galleries plus several awesome churches can eat up your time pretty quickly. If you only have a few days, I would spend one in Pisa and the rest in Florence. |
