Florence is quite cold and humid during winter... however, it is a good time to visit, because there are not so many tourists around (November is the best month). It could be quite charming during the Christmas holidays. Yes, it does snow from time to time, but generally not too much...

Hey Pardner,,,, I was in Italy for the Winter Olympics and went to Florence to visit good friends......... It is COLD..... yes there is snow on the moutains..... not in the city as much,,,, but,,, take my word for it,,, dress warm.....

good luck

Snow, can be...there is good skiing all over Italy, especially the dolomites..

Florence will be cold, but it doesn't rain too much there in the winter so it is not so much of a problem...go for it, it is one of the prettiest cities in the entire world

It depends ... I was there for a week last December and there was a big snowfall, then rain, then chilling cold ... It could be I was unlucky but there are mountains all around so it shouldn't be so warm after all!

I was in Italy in the middle of November several years ago. We had a mixed bag of weather. In Rome, it gpt up to plus 20. A couple of days later, in Florance and Pisa, it was plus 10 with rain. Without the rain, its was quite comfortable with a light jacket. Others have said that it does snow sometimes in winter, which will most likely be a wet snow. Staying dry should be a top priority!
