Would it be good for me to study abroad in Rome for a semester?

This is something that I have been dying to do, but I'm nervous because I've never been out of the country.

Being in another country will really give you a new perspective on yourself and on life. It's a valuable experience and you won't regret doing it. So go for it!

yes, absolutely, My cousin went to France and studied for a semester, couldn't hack it and went to a boarding school in Switzerland instead, and got a ton of job offers just because she had studied in France.

I didn't personally study abroad in Rome, but I went up there about once or twice a month to party and there were always college kids there studying abroad. The ones I talked to always had a good time and when it was time for them to go back home they didn't want to leave! If you do end up going over there you will definitely get to know Campo de Fiori. Google that place and the drunken ship. Go for it!

you will have the time of your life, rome is wonderful with so many things to do, i think it is the best thing a young person can do as you will broaden your outlook on life. the only two problems that could arrise is the language and finances, but then again you can just do a crash course in italian and to maybe babysitting for some extra cash.

goodluck

Girl.....Yes..!!
Go for it. this doesn't come along for just anybody.

Because if you don't and regret your choice of not going it's going to bother you like none other.

Sure. I think that life is about new experiences and overcoming fears. You seem to have a great interest or you wouldn't be posing the question. Don't let the opportunity pass you by. May be best to do a little homework to make you feel more at ease. That is know a little about what the travel will be like and envision yourself there. That would be my advice. Good luck in life!

Yes, I think it would be a fabulous experience for you, since it's something you really want to do. Italy is incredibly beautiful, and the people are nice and friendly. And once you're there, you can travel all over Europe easily by train...every country is interesting and each one seems to be more beautiful than the next. You can live with a host family, which means you will have an instant "in" into the culture and someone to show you around, intruduce you to some people, suggest activities, etc. Italians are extremely hospitable people, in general...family people. I bet you would have a great experience. When I was 40 I had a similar dream, and so I saved my money and planned a trip for 6 months, and then my dream came true when I spent the summer of 2001 traveling throughout Europe!! I am still so proud of myself to this day, for I visited about 15 countries and dealt with all the money changing (before the Euro) and all the different languages and did extremely well...I will never in my life forget my experiences there.

It would be perfect!
Rome is wonderful and full of life!
...I have spent the last 4 months there and at the end I didn't want to come back home!
...moreover if you would feel lonely you could easily find someone of your own nationality to chat with!
Hope you can enjoy Rome at least as I did!!
Good luck and don't worry!!
