Italy in general is very romantic but for me the best three city are Venice, Florence and Rome. Venice make the deal with their gondolas rides, the tiny street (remember there no cars), the church's (so many in this little city), the food and their bridges. Florence has her own charm, there is art everywhere, the piazzas (squares), Ponte Vecchio, the palaces, the cafes uff!! so many things. Rome is the center off all, in here you can see the Colisseum, The Forum, Victor Emmanuel Palace, Fontana di Trevi (the legend said that the person that stand in front of the fountain with his/her back facing the fontain and throw a .5¢ up his/her right shoulder, later in his/her live come back to Rome/ Italy. It truth I be in Italy ones in a year, I always come back!) and don't forget the Spanish Steps and the city inside the city, Vatican City.

Cinque Terre - five seaside villages (monterosso, vernazza, corniglia, manarolo, and riomaggiore) nestled along the northwest coast of Italy (near genoa; just south of the italian riveria). You can take a very short ride from village to village by train or - even better - hike through the vineyards and olive groves that surround the villages. It is soooooo beautiful. You can check out some more information here:

Have fun!

lake como is absolutely beautiful, and has very nice hotels. its a very very nice place for a honeymoon because it isnt all sightseeing. americas next top model even traveled to lake como to do a photo shoot with the lake as a back drop, thats how beautiful it is.

This is an easy question . I have been to all the so-called romantic Italian destinations and this for me and my wife wins hands down . Lake Orta is the place.

The lake has been an inspiration to poets and writers for centuries and is without doubt the most romantic lake in Italy and one of the most romantic places on earth.

Many the Piedmont couple who plan an autumn or early fall wedding here and for good reason.

I have even written a little about the place on my blog. http://www.my-italy-piedmont-marche-and-more.com/lake-orta.html

I would have to say Roma! Rome is the best place (next to Southern Africa)in the world. It was made for honeymoons. There are loads of romantic places to visit, eat and sleep :>)

If you want to drive there is nothing more romantic tha the Tuscan Hill country. You can stay in Florence or Sienna. Easy to pass a very leisurely week. At least 3 days in Florence. You can also stay in a beautiful country hotel or rent a villa.

Venice is also very romantic but only for about 3 days

Of course, Rome is very beautiful with a tremendous amount to see, but not as romantic as the previous

Plons
Everyone writes "Rome" but it is a crowded city full of tourists. If you want seclusion and venture off to better places, it is better to visit romantic locales like Lake Como (Northern Italy) or any of the smaller cities in Tuscany (Siena, etc).
