I don't mind Chavez. I think he's a little misguided about how he says and does things, but I don't think here in the U.S. we're getting the whole picture of him.
He is portrayed as "anti-American" but what seems closer to the truth is that he is anti-Bush. If that is true, he's like the majority of U.S. citizens right now. So far Venezuela has even offered some kinds of aid to the U.S. poor, which was refused by our government.
However, he also gives speeches and has dialogues with other world leaders where he says things about the U.S. which do make him sound very anti-American. So it's confusing. I think if he cleans up his approach, he can win over the U.S. people, and I think he should really consider that.
