Any Latin American countries that are easy for americans to live in?

I dont think a good way to promote your country is by attacking others. Your decision should be based on what you are looking for in the country. If you are interested in investing in tourism, then I would recommend Guatemala or Nicaragua. Both countries are good touristic places right now and tourists are flowing by large numbers (this year the tourism in Guatemala has grown in 20% expecting 1,500,000 visitors). Nicaragua on the other hand is still virgin in this area but it has beautiful places. Both of this countries are very cheap (cheaper than other countries in Central America, specially because they dont use dollars as their currency). If you are looking for work in financial areas Panama is the best country to be in. Other countries in central america are nice, dont take me wrong (i am from Guatemala and i have a business in El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala) but the best opportunities are in the countries i mentioned. Costa Rica and Panama while Mexico is "gringo friendly" and closer it has much higher crime rates than Panama and Costa Rica. Panama and Costa Rica don't get hurricanes either.

EL SALVADOR! i know alot of americans, germans, russians,british etc... that go try it out and never come back because they say that its beautiful and the people are nice and like the owner of a company i used to work for (he's austrian american) he went on vacation loved it came back got people to run his company paid $2500.00 to move his furniture/cars overthere and he bought a boat and a house and now he only comes 1 once a year to collect money and goes back el salvador can get alot of negative publicity but every country has crime every country has problems is just that ive read in other central american newspapers that their government, police dept and reporters prefer not to make public or mention the dangers in their countries or things that happen because they dont want it to affect tourism, investments etc... like im sure you never heard of how dangerous nicaragua can be like some american tourists were at the beach some on a bus they all got purses wallets even their shoes stolen the thiefs did that 5 times that day only to american tourists theyhave alot of crime and gangs also but they are small ones and the reason why hardly anyone knows anything about them its for the fact that they dont have known names... nicaraguans hondurans & guatemalans join la mara salvatrucha and ofcourse it has salvadoreans in it too because those are the main founders and unfortunatly they had to name it after our country but that doesnt mean that all the members are salvadoran... ok and since you want to live in a latin american country central america is cheaper than south america so your $ will go further and unless your retiring any country will do but if your looking to work there costa rica if it wasnt for tourism the country would be like nicaragua honduras and guatemala... panama if it wasnt for the canal they would be in the same situation... nicaragua honduras guatemala are extremely poor and dont have any jobs to offer that is why they imigrate to el salvador or costa rica to go work in our fields on the other hand like many americans that live in el salvador have said/stated and have written about here on yahoo answers el salvador has plenty of beauty & jobs to offer in offices, buildings, whatever you want theres offices were 80% of the time your speaking in english and the other 20% spanish because el salvador has alot of big/small international businesses and el salvador is good for business and making money or just investing and tourism is taking off its doing really well at the end of this year we are closing it at 1.3 million tourists you dont have to take my word for it search it here on yahoo answers or google it

Limon, Costa Rica. Everyone there is displaced, Americans, Europeans..... open a breakfast cafe, bed and breakfast and hang out on the beach after work. Lots of hippies.
