I love San Andres. First DONT stay at the Sunrise. It sucks. It used to be owned by a Narco and then the govt took it over. Surly service. Crappy beach. Id reccomend the Mar Azul. However DO NOT let them rope you into their "travel package" Youll be approached about 100X. You will want to tour the Island. Rent a golf cart. (They are everywhere) See Morgans cave. But DO NOT go down in it. The mosquitoes are fierce. Go to the blow hole and drink a coco loco. The Blue Deep disco. is good. Room for about 700 people.. The music is good. I would Try Rocky Cay for dinner.. Its not bad. If you can, spend a day on Providencia. Its REALLY tranquil but after a day youll be bored (I was, anyway) If you are going to Scuba Dive the dive shop outside the Mar Azul (Sea Garden) is good. Dont use banda. He wants to end every dive after 30 minutes. If you dive be sure to go to Westview (If you go topside there is a slide and you can swim there with all the pretty fish) Also dive the airplane off the end of the runway.. Take your picture in the pilots chair in your gear. Take the hike to the reservoir its very pretty. San Andres is duty free so their is pretty good shopping. You can haggle a little bit and that is always part of the fun. The beach across from the San Luis isnt bad. The beach at the Mar Azul is fake. Take trip to the aquarium. However, get your own mask or bring your own. They rent them but what they rent is junk. Also go out and see them feed the stingrays. You can toss food to them. The water is so clear you can take pictures. Its a fun place with nice people. Ive been, probably, 20 times since the mid 70s and have loved it more each time.

Yes I have! I am an American expat living and working in Latin America and I have found that the best place for information on travel through this part of the world is on Viva Travel guides, here is a link to their Colombia page:

Wander down to Kella Bar toward the south end of the island. Most tranquilo place in the world for me
