Beautiful country, you will enjoy it. Although it is cheaper than the U.S. it is not extremely cheap-- it is a pretty developed country.

Go to paradise. Go to Costa Rica. Those simple words are enough to describe it. Costa Rica has everything u want on a single and little place, because you can go from one coast to the other one like in a 10 hour drive or 2 hours flight. The got shopping centers, rain forest, great beaches, very kind and helpful people, etc. I have been there like 7 times and each time is better. It's also very cheap, cause $1 = 550 colones and plane tickets on tourist class from Newark Liberty, NJ to San Jose or Liberia, CR are like 800 bucks and 1600 on First Class, that's on Continental Airlines(continental.com). I can write millions of the benneficts of visiting CR but it will be enough for u check some web-sites to make your mike and go to CR. It may be once in a lifetime, but I'm sure that after your first visit, you will love to go back, I know a lot of people that is amazed with Costa Rican landscapes, people, nature, etc. I definitely recommend it. Just love it. Pura vida mae!!!

costa rica

I've been three times now and it's getting progressively more expensive and more 'Westernized.' Used to be you could get a decent beachfront hotel reoom for $26/night, now it's closer to $100 or so.

If you live and eat with the locals yes, but if you want to live and eat as if you were in the US no., you can eat at McDonald's or TGI Fridays, Etc and it is more expensive than the US

Yes Costa Rica can be cheap - and depending on where you go exactly it can be expensive as all get out!

Things usually cost about one third as much as they do in the states with exception of the gasoline which is higher than ours.

One can live like a King in Costa Rica for about $600.00 USD a month!

I Plan on going to San Jose, CR in June again this year from Tampa, Florida and my seven day trip will run me about $1,500.00 including Hotels (Hotel Del Rey in San Jose, and Hotel Kamuk in Quepos) and flights to and from Quepos, food and all the beer and female entertainment I want!

VIVA LA PURA VIDA!

Good Luck if you go!
