Any one have recommendations for a Spanish Language school in Costa Rica?

There are tons of good ones. Monetarily, the best values are in San Jose, Cartago and Turrialba. Generally the schools on the beach are relatively expensive and things tend to be more relaxed and students less interested in Spanish and more interested in experiencing Costa Rica's beach and night life.

There are lots of good schools. It depends on your length of stay and whether you want things such as Spanish and volunteering together. Intensa, the Costa Rican Language Academy, ICADES (volunteering) CPI (Heredia and Monteverde) are just some examples.

A reputable language school will supply you with references and should have some way for you to get college credit if you want to pay extra.

This summer I came from Intercultura. I spent 2 weeks at the Heredia campus and 2 weeks at the beach campus. It was definitely one of the more affordable choices and all their teachers are properly licensed. Overall I was really happy with my choice. Their weekend excursions were amazing and the employees were very helpful and friendly. I also just found out that it was featured on the show Passport to Latin America on the Travel Channel, which is pretty exciting.

Good luck and have fun on your trip!

There are a number of places to go. I attended one this past summer. it was a good experience. Also if you want college credit you need to know that going in.

here are two links.

www.siwonama.com I was taught by the guy who runs this place and he is one of the smartest, most enjoyable people to be around. I also learned a lot from him.

The other one is

www.interexchange.com from there you can get a link to another institute.

Check with the Spanish embassy. They have Instituto de Cervantes. It's the best school for Spanish.
