It depends on what you are expecting to see.
For some culture you will like to go to the "Basilica de los Angeles" in Cartago, the "Museo de Oro" in San Jose's Central Avenue, the "Iglesia de Orosi" in Cartago, the National Museum in San Jose, the Santa Rosa's house in Guanacaste or well; going for some theater at the Melico Salazar Theater or at the National Theater both at the Second Avenue in San Jose.
For adventure and nature, definitely visit Monteverde, Dominical beach, or any volcano such as Poas, Arenal, Rincon de la Vieja or Irazu.
If you would like amazing beaches, visit almost any in our coasts, all are great. The best waves are in Jaco at Puntarenas and Tamarindo, Avellana and Playa Negra at Guanacaste.
If you forgot something, anywhere in the country you'll find mall, commercial centers, supermarkets, or friendly mini-stores.
Although our streets aren't it's best, our beautiful scenes will replace them. Remember to be prepare for some sun and tons of rain! Enjoy a lot and have a good time! |

My husband and I went to CR last march and had a blast. We stayed at an all inclusive resort (best way to go) in Tambor. All inclusives are great because you get all you can eat and drink, and they have contacts with different sight seeing tours in the area. We stayed at the Barcelo in Tambor, I highly recommend it for the money. Tambor is on the penninsula on the pacific side and isnt as populated as the mainland. We liked it because it wasnt very close to any towns and has a lot of ecotourism in the area. Have fun!! Its an awesome place to go. |
