Anyone been to Peru (cuzco or lima) recently?

Let's see. Lima and Cuzco are very different (kindda like New York and Denver). Lima is on the coast (pacific coast that is) and, since we are in the southern hemisphere, it is summer. So Lima is very hot, about 80Â°F, which, when added to the very high humidity, makes for very hot weather. Nevertheless, considering Lima is in the middle of the Sechura dessert, it basically never rains. So shorts, t-shirts, hat and sunglasses. Mind the sun, as you'll be very close to the equatorial line and the sun's rays fall straight on you and can seriously burn you.
Cuzco, on the other hand, is in the Andes Mountains with Machu Picchu already in the Amazon Basin. Cuzco is at an altitude of around10,000 feet above sea level, so the temperatures vary wildly during the day, from a sunrise of 35Â°F to a 70Â°F at midday. Again, the sun can seriously burn you (as to the closeness to the equator now you have to add the thinner air), so plenty of sunscreen lotion, hat and sunglasses.
However, this is also the rainy season in the Andes, so chances of rain are very high, so bring a rain poncho.
As a side point, Cuzco is showing partly sunny today with rain from tonight until Saturday. Lima, on the other hand shows sunny all week.

We're still in summer (a very hot one!) so, tees, capris or skirts and sandals is fine for Lima or any coastal city. It doesn't rain at all in the coast unless you're going to Tumbes.

Mountains (Cusco and Machu Picchu) It's having heavy rains so consider a raincoat in your list and adequate shoes. The rain makes the temperature fall so jeans and many socks!

Lima has like 96% average humidity so your hair could be a little wild... pack a headband or something :)

I'm soooo jealous i just come back from Lima i spent 3 weeks over there past January it was so cool really hot pack really light cause if you go shopping omg you cannot believe the prices and quality of clothes so i advice you buy everything over there get a small jacket for the nights specially if you go and spent days on the beach but is no cold at all open shoes sandals and for the nights omg Lima have a lot of night Live a lot of bars restaurants, discos and the same in Cuzco have a lot of fun ...nice trip

just take all u can :)... so if u would need anything else,, then in Lima or Cusco,, u will find it....... will be more cheap ..... this time u will need some coat for the rain :)

Oh have fun, I am jealous, I just came from LIma and Cuzco and had the time of my life.

Its was hot there but I don't know if it is that hot right now as winter is starting but many you can catch the beach still in lima.

In Cuzco must be a little cold but I don't think that much.

Nigh life in Lima is awesome and Cuzco is amazing. OMG how lucky you are.

A jacket should do it and something nice in case you go to a nice restaurant and need to dress up.

Then shorts, hiking shoes or flipflops and jeans

It all depends where are you going you know.

It's getting chilly, but if youÂ¿re coming from a cold climate, you'll think it's warm. Bring a sweater for the nights.
