Golly, if you're not an outdoorsy type of person and you already feel in advance you won't like it, then maybe you really won't like the Galapagos. Yes, it is animals, landscapes, volcanos, beaches (kinda). That's what the Galapagos is. I myself found it absolutly wonderfully fantastic.

You'll love it. It's not all just outdoorsy type, for me, it was just looking at the diverse group of animals in the wild. Seals, sea lions, sharks, whales, flamingoes, penguins & my favorite memory is that we were on a boat to go to another island when a group of dolphins came & swam in front of our boat (jumping for 15 minutes, coolest thing ever.) You're going to need to take boat rides to the different islands. For me, it was more a tour of learning about the islands & animals. We did go to a club one night, but it's nothing special. ALSO do not attempt to bring in any 'special' herbs & spices. Hopefully this type of search has changed, but to counter drugs, they make you line up against a wall when you get there & a dog sniffs everyone's bags personally.

Ya. Charles darwin. Long time back. he's not around here now, so u might want to read his book where he describes his vacation there.

Galapagos Islands are so beautiful! There is a lot to see there, places to go, animals which you have never seen before and didn't think they exist, the beaches are great for swimming, and it is also a great place to shoot films, take photos, and much more. Be sure to take your camera with you. Enjoy your trip.

It's a shame you're not looking forward to it, because you will probably never have a chance to get so close to nature in a non-threatening way. The Galapagos Islands are a special place ... I hope you can appreciate it.

For a detailed journal of a visit there (by an older couple), check out their journal and pictures on my web site ... http://jackmaryetc.com/Travel/Americas/Ecuador/galap.htm

There are 4 pages ... plus links to other info about our trip in Ecuador.
