Not sure where you got this information from, but I suggest you read up on the people of Ecuador.
My parents are from there, and I lived there as a kid, and you see people of all races there.
We have white(european), black, mestizos(white with indigenous), mulatos(white with black), indigenous, etc. You must remember that the Spanish conquered this part of the world and many people from Europe and Africa came over to Latin America. The indigenous people do have asian features (eyes, face in general) but they are not chinese.

Mabe my Abuelo is de Ecuador and sometimes i think he looks kind of ASIAN, and some people think i do too.
But the Japanese and other Asians used to come over to the Americas to trade B4 the Europeans came.

Anaid and Fulanito are both right. The majority of Ecuadorians are not of Chinese descent, but there are some who are. The general population is mainly mestizo--a mixture of Spanish and Indian. My husband is from Ecuador and on his mom's side of the family you can really see this mix, however his dad was very fair skinned with reddish hair and hazel eyes. There are black Ecuadorians as well, and also the truly indigenous population.

This is just a theory of some scientists. They believe that some asians walked over from what is now called Russia to Alaska. Then went down south untill they finally reached South America. I'm not sure if this is true, it's just what some people think.
