The answer to your question is No, there are no hotels in La Fortuna de San Carlos with views of the lava flows because it is located on the East side of the Volcano.
Hotels in the Arenal area have been mentioned to you by the previous answer.
I happen to know of a great, cheap option for prime lava viewing in a small town called El Castillo. It is located on the mountain west of the volcano, the side where the active crater is constantly emmiting gas and lava rock. Cabinas El Castillo are about $50 double ocp. Linda Vista del Norte is in the same area and it is beautiful! you can go there for dinner if accomodations there are out of your price range.
Sky Trek/Sky Tram is located in this area too. They have the greatest canopy tour in the area as you ride high up the mountain before zooming down the lines with the Arenal Volcano and Arenal Lake for viewing!

Supposely from any lodge near the volcano, you can see lava, you just need some luck to see the exact moment.
