Are there english transcripts of "Alo Presidente"? |
I'm looking for an english transcript of 'Alo Presidente' episode 291.
-OR-
Just the portion of the episode that dealt with the Guardian reporter 'Rory Carroll'.
I do not speak spanish, and so would greatly appreciate for some help here. As a secondary question, is there a major english Venezuelan news site? I'm interested in Venezuela but can't seem to find one!
Additional Details
The key word is "ENGLISH". I can find all the spanish transcripts I want, but that doesn't help me if I don't speak spanish. And it also doesn't help me when internet translation sites are not good enough at translating yet.
So, again, either a link to a site that has the english translation -or- a post of text where someone translated the protion I want. |

Hugo Chavez is an idiot. Rory asked him about extending term limits. Something this neo-dictator is dying to get his hands on. Rory simply asked his HIGHNESS, "Aren't you worried that by extending term limits might turn you into a military leader( caudillo)"
First he played like he didn't understand the reporter, even tho rory speaks amazingly great Spanish. Then, Chavez simply beat around the bush and didn't answer the question and gave some phony bullsh*t that rory is from europe, and in europe they are an older society and because they're older they're more cynical. It was absolute bollocks.
Sorry, no English translation. There's hardly enough Spanish speaking people who listen to that rubbish as it is. |

I do not think you are going to find any transcription in a different language than Spanish.
Get a translator, preferably a Venezuelan. Chavez use a lot of slang, old sayings, jokes, nonsense, etc in addition he plays with his pronunciation, people joke about it. misma = mesma, It's his personal accent... ? ....
The are some laws restricting news, publication, etc. So the broadcast of news from serious agencies is limited. There is a English Newspaper in town, (Caracas), the daily journal. |
