Are toucans a symbol of Costa Rica?

It's just that this bird is often pictured in connection with this country. For example, http://www.tylersterritory.com/travel/na...
So are they a symbol or is it a coincidence? If they are, why?
Additional Details
I'm mostly interested WHETHER at all they are a symbol of Costa Rica. Rain forests exist in other countries too, yet Costa Rica seems to have toucans as a very recurrent symbol. So ARE THEY?

toucans are not a costa rican symbol, although there are a lot of them in the rainforests....the "yigÜirro" is the national bird, but toucans, macaws and quetzals are often used as an image for our rainforests because they are more attractive
