Mrs. Obama rules!
Well, apart from Caracas (capital city) I absolutely recommend Puerto Cabello, Morrocoy. It's much better than Jamaica or Punta Cana, the water is blue, the beaches are great. The Venezuelas Caribbean is awesome. I also recommend Tachira but I'm biased as I have family there and I love the place.

Margarita Island hands down.
The safest of all places in Venezuela.

Confused
Caracas, Hands down. I live there now and its actually a very vibrant city. It has surprisingly a lot of culture than you think, Italians, Spanish, CHinese, Portuguese, Japanese, Brasilian and so on. IT actually has a lot of really good restaurants. GO to Mercedes where everything hip and upscale people hang out. WHere I live in the EAStern part of the city, its actually very nice. You can live in mostly nice apartments overlooking the city or you could live in rare and very maintenace house. You also have the upscale malls like Sambil, CCCT, or el HAtillo. Believe me, CAracas has lots of stuff although still not compared to the cities in the states. If youre looking for some late night excitement, you can hang out in upscale San Ignacio or you can hang out in the barrios for some late night danger. LOL. STill better than any other place in Venezuela. Just bevare of the Chavistas. Cheerio.

The best city to move to in Venezuela is Miami.

The best cities to visit in Venezuela are Caracas, Merida, Maracaibo, and Porlamar. That will get you urban, mountain, tropical, and Caribbean Island.

Good luck.

Hi!
If you are visiting, don't miss:

MÉRIDA, Mérida (Very beautiful city. Andes located. Has the highest Venezuelan Mountain "Pico Bolívar". Close to Colombia).
SAN CRISTÓBAL, Táchira (Never been, but people love it! Also Andes located. Close to Colombia).
MARACAIBO, Zulia (the second most important city of the country. Lots of Oil fields, good shopping, nice nightlife and events. Don't miss the Chinita Virgin Cathedral and the food. It's close to Colombia too but it's very HOT!)
CARACAS, Dtto. Capital (The capital city... What you want, you'll find here. If you're a shopper, the biggest mall of all Latin America is located here. Don't miss Avila Mágica, a trip to the highest mountain peak in Caracas)
PORLAMAR, Nueva Esparta (That's the city, but I'm talking about Margarita Island. Lots of pretty beaches! Lots of tax fres shopping!)
PUERTO ORDAZ, BolĂvar (make your way to the Amazonian Jungle through this beautiful city. Rivers, mountains and nice people!)

That's a few for ya!

Goodluck!
