Better citizenship- US or Chile?

I may have to decide someday, if my bf and I decide to marry. Chile does not allow dual citizenships. So, does anyone have any insights on this? (and please, if you literally do not know anything about Chile, please refrain from answering).

Actually my boyfriend's family came here in the 70's - to escape Pinochet, who's (clearly) no longer an issue). Their economy is doing extremely well right now, and we know a lot of people who have retired and are enjoying very nice lives there. And given the vanishing civil liberties in this country...a lot of his family is going back. That's why we're considering it.

Chile sucks like a Hoover unless you have tons of bucks - and if you do, life in the US will still be both safer & better.

I live in Chile and is a nice place ti live, I have also lived in the States and it is also nice. The best would be to keep both. What would be the problem of being an American working in Chile??? Do you get special benefits or problems by not choosing???

Preciosa
I really dont think you should be asking morons on Yahoo Answers a personal question like that. THe USA allows dual citizenship. Even if you moved to Chile and wanted to come back to the USA it's not like the government wouldnt let you. I assume you were born an amercan citizen, and always will be.

It's your life. Do what you want with it. If it doesnt work out with you and your bf, you can always come back.

If you have money then Chile is a good place. But if you are going there to try to make a good living working as an employee. No
Latin American countries are who you know. You may not have the ability to pour piss out of a boot. But if you know the right people your in.
To raise a family and your in I would pick Chile

You're joking, aren't you ? Let me guess, your boyfriend is now in the US, or wants to come here ? There's your answer. Chile is NOT a nice place to live, unless you're rich. Why do you think these people risk their lives to come to the US?
