yes Im in uraguay right now after driving from california to ushuaia. you have to use a ferry or containerize your car to pass the darien. email me for more info. (Our car is for sale here) iv5205@yahoo.com

fxcontrer
Yes. In theory you can drive the whole length of the PanAmerican highway. Check the links. Hope this helps.

only if you have time --like 2 weeks, a good route map and the guts if narcos or terrorists make an appereance

You can, but it's going to be really difficult, you will have to go through border patrol so many times, and driving through all those countries is really dangerous, you should fly or take a bus.

I agree that it will be risky and that you will have to go by sea around the Darien. There is a twice a week ferry from Panama to Cartagena, Colombia.

aqui_cara
Yes, you can. If you are afraid of Colombia because of its problems, you can take a ferry to sorround Colombia.
There is a community of backpackers that gladly will answer your questions:

Hardly. Currently you will have problems to cross with your car from Darien (Panama) to Colombia. Some years ago some people did it using sort of a ferry service called Crucero Express but it is not available anymore.

Aside of the problem with the car I would advise lots of caution in the borderline of Panama and Colombia.
