Can you take a train between North America and South America?

I just laughed at all the answers! Geographically speaking, you can't just for the fact that there is a piece of land called the Darien Gap (in Panama) where go have to catch a ferry or boat to go across. Even the Pan american highway which supposedly goes from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego, has huge gaps due to jungles and marshes.
And for everyone's information, South American countries such as Chile, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela, Bolivia or Colombia have very decent railroads!! Yes, third world countries do have railroads and some of them are better than Amtrak, just take a look at the Orient Express Hirham Bingham train from Cuzco to Machu Picchu and Puno in Peru, 600 dollars the ticket with a 5 star service abroad!!!!

Sadly no. Neither can you drive. There are some marshes in Panama that there's no way to cross. Also, no passenger trains in Mexico (you could ride like a hobo on the freight ones but it's really really really risky). I've heard Argentina has a decent rail system.

No you can't take a train from North to South America. I'm not sure of each country's railway system, but I know, at least in Honduras you can't even get across that country by train. If you can't get across Honduras you can't make it any further than that.

No. One used to be able to reach Guatemala, but Mexico has since gutted its passenger rail system.

Through Central America, there are only short, unconnected rail routes. In Costa Rica, for instance, theree is only one short line from San Jose to a suburb, the sole remnant of the old coast-to-coast line.

Getting from Panama to Colombia by land is very difficult; even the road was never fully developed.

As far as I know, the northern South American nations are lacking rail systems of any significance, but I'm not 100 percent certain.

NO look at a globe. you will need a plain to get to south America. It is across the ocean. Which will be the blue area on the globe. there are no trains on the ocean. you will notice the contents are not connected. buy train tack. but is surrounded by lots of water. in fact it covers about 70 percent of the earth. buy the way don't drink the water ocean water is bad for you.. You will need a pass port. and a plain ticket to get to Brazil.
