Central America?

I'm going to Central America for a month. July-Aug 07. I'm in my mid 20s solo female traveler, and would like to know if anyone else is doing the same thing.
Additional Details
Guatemala (Antigua+Guatemala City)-->El Salvador(Libertad+San Salvador)-->Honduras (Tegucigalpa+ Copan)-->Nicaragua (the three cities)--->Costa Rica (Monteverde+ San Jose)-->Panama (just Bocas del toro) all by bus.

My two friends and I will be in Central America July 28 - Aug 11. We're landing in Panama and mostly busing (possibly flying some legs as we're short on time) all the way to Belize.

We're basically doing the same trip, but backwards in a shorter period of time.

I'm researching on the web for all the details and noticed that almost everyone goes North to South, not South to North. I'm kinda curious why that is. Any thoughts?

Anyway, maybe we'll see you somewhere in the middle. Don't worry about traveling alone. If you don't find anyone on the web, go to a popular hostel (probably the first one listed on Lonley Planet) and I'm sure you'll find other travelers to hang out with.

Sounds like fun!

Travel during the day, be alert and have fun!

If you need something, don't hesitate to call us in Miami at 305.984.1868. We have contacts in several areas of Central America, including Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.

Best wishes,
Nitzia

I haven't but I do know people who have done similar things. Be sure that someone back home has a copy of your itinerary. It's a really good safety precaution.

Sounds like a great trip. I wish I could go too!!!

Make two sets of photocopies of your passport. Keep one with you (not in the same place as your original passport) and one with someone back home.

Make sure you also have plenty of $1 bills on hand for tips and to give to kids. They will love it!
