It is a very nice place. It is pretty rustic looking. Most of the streets are cobble stone. There are a lot of night clubs there and a lot of people from all over go there just for the night life. There are certain nights of the week where ladies drink free and that attracts all the men. It is also fairly close to the Rio Dulce (less than 2 hours) which is also a nice place to visit.

Go to Esquipulas, do not miss the small zoo there, ask the people there, i dont really remember the name of it. You can also camp there, go hiking, visit some caves, picnic, horsebackriding (i am sure i misspelled that word! )... if you like adventure tourism.
Do not miss the church.. you will see interesting customs there, interesting culture and people...
Go to Ruinas de Iximché... what is left of Mayan culture.
On your way there, be sure to buy some cocos by the road.
You could email me casiopea4@gmail.com.. be sure to put your reference.. "im from yahoo! answers!"
good luck....
