X-mas is great here in San José Costa Rica. Now, San Jose City Hall has created a lot of activities for this times. For example, this Saturday San Jose's main streets are closed to show a kind of circus on it, and at night, there will be a "Light Festival", that is a lot of carousels with lights, cheer leaders and bands playing x-mas songs. On Sunday a theme park will open in Downtown with a lot of attractions, restaurants, and bars; also the X-mas Lottery will be aproximately $250000. Local TV programs will give a lot of entertainment shows and on Christmas Eve families get together. On New Year's Eve, some bars and restaurants will give a special PARTY. To conclude, in January, the FIESTA moves to Palmares, a place north of San Jose.

Christmas in Costa Rica is similar to Christmas here in the United States only its more centered around the day Jesus was born. Santa's not too popular. A lot of families go camping at the beach during Christmas since it is summer there.
