Colombia is wonderful, went to Cali and Bogota this summer, had lasix done for one fourth the price in the USA, some botox for one third the price, people are friendly, food is great, lots to see and do, three weeks, no problems whatsoever, felt safe all the time, dont believe the horror stories, I have felt more threatened when I live in New York.

Been there several times - Bogota, Cartegena and Isla de Rosario and to Narino (down south). Beautiful counrty, nice people, except for the way they drive and except for Bogota and Cartegena not expensive. Be smart, carry only a copy of your passport and a dummy or throw away wallet with old credit cards and 20000 pesos ($10). They may be nice but they are also dirt poor!
