Well I'm colombian, and I know for a fact that colombian women just die for american or european men. A friend of mine is about to marry a swiss guy, and she says he's very polite, well mannered, and also very funny. Plus, they love their taller complexion, blue eyes, etc.

I do have to say another reason some women go crazy when they see a tourist, is because he'll probably have some money. I mean, after all, economical situation in Colombia isn't the best, and a lot of people have trouble finding a job. So marrying a foreigner and traveling abroad could seem like an easy solution for them. That's why If I were you, I'd be a little suspicious about her.

Just find out more things about her, and also, be aware of what she asks you. Maybe she really isn't a gold digger, and she is really interested in you... just be careful with the information you give her.

SIMPLE, she likes you (or at least finds you attractive) for the same reasons you like her. You are different and exotic by her standards.

I am half Colombian. Basically Colombian guys have a bit of a problem with being faithful. They do not really treat women badly on the whole, but they are not the kind of people who will turn down an offer.

Colombian girls love europeans particularly the ones who speak english as most girls this days learn it in colege and they are always shy to speak it, but love the fact that they can understand.

The coffee farmers here are very wealthy, but mate a long distance relationship with someone you have never met is not going to work. Colombian girls love to party. Unless you can make here to Colombia or she is willing to go there I think you will struggle.

Bust best of luck anyway

new in the USA
Hi, I'm from Colombia married to a an American Guy.
I really can tell you by my situation, I was disappointed of Colombian guys the treatment they give to women isn't very good.
I would be very careful because not all woman want the same, some they want to marry a foreigner just to get some money, some just to go to another country and some like me just because we want someone real special to love us and care of us.

Colombia woman are very sweet, and family women, reponsible and dedicated.

just chech it out very carefully before making any serious decision!!!

Good luck

If they constantlyy ask for money, beware. I have lived in Colombia since 2001 and have had a few girlfriends here (along with several really nice call girls who I wined and dined and went to movies with). You can tell who is looking for money. They constantly ask for money for ficticious things. I married a lady from Peru. She NEVER asked me for money in the two years we saw each other before marrying. She does not even want to go to USA other than to visit. Of the women I dated from Colombia, there was only one who constantly asked for money.

Most Colombian women are not out to take everything from you, Use common sense and question things that do not seem right. DON'T BE A BONE HEAD?

good luck

i'm sorry to pass my opinionated answer on to you but I too caution you to be very careful. I have been living in Panama for 7 months and traveled Costa Rica. From what I observed they are not looked upon very kindly and seems to be general knowledge that they look for men with money. In Panama most of the bars and casinos are frequented by Colombian prostitutes. They are all very attractive and also seem like very nice women. If I were not aware of their occupation I would never guess. I agree with a Panamanian man who told me that they have no scruples and will stop at nothing to get what they want when it comes to money from a man. Unfortunately I have first hand knowledge of this. Being from the USA and never knowing any Colombians before I thought the woman down the street really had become my best friend. I never suspected it was my husband and life she was after or she would never have crossed my doorway. It turned out she was the most deceitful person I've ever come across. So I caution you to be careful. Be very careful!
