For cheaper fares, try looking at any of the discount agencies (travelocity, Priceline, etc) or try flying out of Seattle. Fly into Seattle but then book your flight from the US to El Salvador.

Just go to different travel sites. They're big help and you can compare prices.
Now what you do is go to those sites and see who has the cheapest, then go to the actual airlines website to see if you can get it cheaper directly through them because after all of the fees and expenses they charge at those websites, you may actually come out cheaper just going through the airline.

it will cost you about $850 round trip but you can try different dates on searchs to find a cheapest.
Advice: Try to avoid TACA flights cuz' they attention is not good at all. You have to pay extra bucks for the food you got on flight. So I would say United Airlines is much better
EDIT I forgot one more advice. If you gonna buy your ticket on travelocity.com keep checking around 4 or 3 weeks before the date you want. I was noticed that prices sunddely go down around this time before the departure. So keep your eyes open wide and get the best deal!!I have gotten tickets from travelocity like 12 times lol so trust me what i'm telling you !!
