Well, you can teach english.
But, as in any other country, if you have a degree you can easily find a job.

Working in Costa Rica certainly has it's benefits as well as it's challenges. We operate a Real Estate firm as well as a internet marketing and web development office here in Playas del Coco. Securing work permits for our employees has become increasingly more difficult however not impossible. For medical professions I understand that it is easier, however Americans are required to secure a permit to work in Costa Rica.

Work permits are now only issued to those individuals that fulfill an employment need that could not have been filled by a Costa Rican Citizen. We have helped several clients attain both residency and citizenship.

There are many opportunities for Americans to work in the real estate and development sector as most of the clients are native English speakers. However explore the regional classifieds and which companies are offering work permits.

U speak english for a start, that's a plus, believe me. There are a lot of call centers in which pretty much what they ask for is someone who speaks english and they give u the training (I.B.M, Fujitsu, Procter n Gamble, etc), and those jobs are very well paid, also there a lot of sportsbooks and casinos on line u can make good money there too, I've worked in sportsbooks for a long time now and I've worked with a lot of americans...
