Costa Rica: Best way to get from Montezuma to Manuel Antonio?
My friend and I are backpacking Costa Rica this spring break and we are trying to figure out the best way to move on from Montezuma to Manuel Antonio. I know its a bit of a trek, but it's important to us to go to both of these places. So whats the best way? Bus, ferry, bus? Can private shuttles be arranged? I was also particularly interested in the possibility of a ferry that runs from Paquera to Jaco, perhaps? Any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you, and happy travels!
Your best bet is to take the Ferry to Puntarenas. Then you can take a public bus to Jaco or hire a private shuttle.
Dos Gringos Transportation http://www.dosgringoscr.com specializes in private shuttles to Jaco and they will pick you up in Puntarenas. Sorry I do not know there rates, but you can email them on their website, and I believe they have a live chat. More shuttle/buses companies are here
For the same price as taking a private shuttle you can take a boat. I think a boat ride from Monte Zuma to Manuel Antonio is between $60 to $100 and it takes around 45 minutes. Its really fun and a beautiful ride. I really good way of enjoying CR. The bus will take 5 hours at least. In Monte Zuma there is a Bar called Chicos bar but in the day time right next to it youll see a sign that say something like Chicos Tours. They give boat rides from Monte Zuma to Jaco which is right next to Manuel Antonio. Im pretty sure they can take you to Manuel Antonio if not then to Jaco but youll still be better off because Jaco is right next to Manuel Antonio.

Take a boat to Jaco and continue with a public bus. Actually the boats from Montezuma arrive in Herradura and not in Jaco. From Herradura I would take a taxi to the bus station in Jaco.
There are several companies that offer boat trips from Montezuma. I have read that some include the taxi to Jaco and others not.
Zuma Tours is one of the companies that offers trips to Herradura on a daily basis:
