Costa Rica activities? |
I will be going to Costa Rica for 10 days in December with some friends.
We would like to surf, go ziplining, bungee jumping, visit a volcano, go hiking in the rainforest, go mountain biking, and party at night.
So my question is, what are the regions/areas of Costa Rica most feasable to do these activities? We were thinking Jaco and Arenal. Are these two cities good choices?
We're looking not farther than 3-4 hours by bus from San Jose.

Arenal, Manuel Antonio and Monteverde. You can cover all of your activities in those places. Have a great trip.

for surfing i think the best places are in guanacaste. but if you want to go mountain biking i recommend going to cerro dantas which is north of heredia close to monte de la cruz. ive been there a few times and its always a really fun ride with nice views. then for volcano's i recommend the poas or arenal although the arenal has bad roads and is about 5 hours from san jose. |

I would actually go with Arenol & Quepos (or Manual Antonio). That should cover all your stuff. I haven't been to Jaco, but I've heard some unpleasant things about it. I've been to the other two and they are bursting with activities - all the ones you are looking for plus some. Here are some sights to give you an idea:

There are signs for surf lessons (or you can just surf anywhere) all along the coast around Quepos/Manual Antonio - although inside the National Park, I don't think you can surf).
