Costa Rica in the last few years has really gotten into the blogshear and there are hundreds of ways to get good contracts and that grows everyday.

If you know how to email, you are set to make contacts.

Since Costa Rica is becoming very internet savvy, the social networking site http://www.hi5.com is one of fastest growing but http://www.facebook.com, is no doubt the best with more info on people that have moved to Costa Rica and locals who have joined the network.

Facebook is set up for the beginner; once you get the hang of it, you will rock.

If you have an account (or get one) a simple search on Costa Rica, and you will get 1000s of groups, friends and fans. Just click the "send a messages" icon and let the Internet do its thing.

This website, http://www.doscolones.com has also got a list of some nice and niche blogs of the locals.

Good luck and best wishes living there

Try the social networking site hi5.com
Alot of Costa Ricans have a profile on there(if not most)

Once you get here I think you'll find that it's not too hard to make friends. There are lots of other gringo/as here and the locals are friendly enough. My advice to anyone is to buy a good guidebook, even if it's not a vacation. I still refer to my Lonely Planet book 4 years later.
