It is a good surfing place. There is also good fishing on the Pacific Coast and near the Barro Colorado on the Atlantic Coast.

I would say it is pretty good place to go if you want to surf. I recommend Playa Grande and Playa Tamarindo for two surf spots. I'm sure there are more, but those are some of the better known. And yes it is good place to fish.
