Diarrhea? After returning from Peru?

So I just got back from Peru just last Saturday night. I started getting diarrhea Sunday morning and it still has not stopped (today is Thursday). It's only after I eat a meal. What's wrong with me? Someone help! Could it be because I =had just returned from Peru? Should I seek a doctor?

You probably have amoebas...a parasite. In Mexico, the medicine for this is calle OXAL...don't know what it is in the U.S. You DO need to see a doctor tomorrow. The medicine for the parasites usually helps in 2 to 3 days. Ask the doc also for a prescription for lomotil to slow down the diarrhea while the other med is working.

Could be a parasite. Go to a health food store and talk to them about what to take.Something like paracleanse.

Your diarrhoea has continued for almost a week now. I would say that it's time to see a doctor. He will probably want to know details of the symptoms - is there any blood in your stools etc. He may prescribe some medication to treat the condition..

I think it is called Montezuma's Revenge. Take lots of Cayenne pepper with food. If it gets real bad you might need to see the doc.

Let me guess....you ate a runny egg the morning before you left? Wouldn't happen to be Hotel Dorado would it?

Do nothing and lose pounds over the next couple of weeks...or ....Go to the doctor and get rid of it within the next week. Your choice.

One beer would restart the problem even after a week. Left twice from Peru and the last morning would eat breakfast (fried egg) in room two trips in a row. I quit doing that and have not had a problem with diahrea on the last 6 or 8 trips.

it will go away. It all depends on the restaurants, restaurants in the USA have given me diarrhea too and they were ok restaurants, I don't know what is it but I have gotten diarrhea everytime I have travel within the USA too. Sometimes it could be blamed to water, sometimes it could be blame to the fact that you are just not accostumed to the food.

You're adjusting to the change in food. Try starchy foods like potatoes or rice
