Do all US citizens visiting Chile pay an administrative fee of $131?

Not sure whether cruise ship passengers must pay this fee if they do not say in Chile, but visit for the day in port from ship.

Yes, all US citizens pay US$131 upon arrival. It's a money grab by the Chilean government. The good thing is: you can pay it with all major credit cards.

Wow, it sounds like it has gone up since I was there. (I just checked my passport and I paid $61 six years ago). My understanding is that it is only if you enter the Airport at Santiago, so no a cruise ship passenger would not. But these fees are reciprocal, so maybe they've changed the rules as the U.S. is becoming harsher on foreigners entering the US.

You need to ask your cruise line this question.Chile dow=es charge a reciprocity fee, which just HAPPENS to be exactly the same amount as the U.S.charges a Chilean citizen for a visa application! The site below quotes that fee as $100.00....but it actually went up in Jan when the visa fees went up.

Erina
Yes, it is a reciprocity fee that American citizens have to pay to enter Chile. However, the good news is that it is valid for multiple entries until your passport expires. So you are able to enter Chile as many times as you want to after paying the fee until you renew your passport.
